A product studio in Austin.

About GhostBytes

We're a small product studio building and operating software across consumer, enterprise, and community categories. We incubate, ship, and run our own products — and take selective client work end-to-end.

Our Story

GhostBytes was started by two software veterans who'd spent two decades building production systems for other people's companies and decided to do it for their own.

We're a studio, not an agency: we incubate ideas, ship products, and then operate them. Building is the easy part — running something that real users depend on, month after month, is the work that compounds.

We also take on select client engagements when we believe in the problem and can do the work end-to-end. The Lotus Owners Club modernization is one such project.

What we value

Build to operate

Every architectural choice should pay off on the on-call rotation, not just in the sprint review.

Honest defaults

Sensible behavior out of the box. No surprise dependencies, no dark patterns, no auto-renewing traps.

Real users over demos

We measure success by what people actually do with our software, not what slides describe.

Ship the boring stuff

Backups, logging, error pages, migrations. The unglamorous work that separates products from prototypes.
